Without A Trace - The Great Rapture Controversy

Friday, March 27th, 2009

The rapture of the Christian is a well known matter among believers around the world. It is sometimes referred to as the catching away. Jesus spoke of it in Matthew 24:37-42 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, and marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coining of the Son of man be. Then two shall he in the field; the one shall be taken. And the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

The Apostle Paul further elucidates the matter by adding to it a few details that the account in Matthew leaves out. 1 Corinthians 15: 51-52 Behold I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Like so many other prophecies of the second coming believers can’t seem to fully agree on this one. The three common views are what are known as, pre-tribulation, mid- tribulation and post-tribulation rapture. That all believers dead or alive will be instantly transformed and carried up to meet the Lord at his second coming is not the argument. It is only when their going to be caught up that so puzzles the believer.

Not wanting to add to the confusion I can say that only the first two views have any possibility of being correct. The main purpose of Christ’s return is to judge a world that has plunged into the worship of the devil in the flesh (antichrist) and it culminates in the pouring out of God’s wrath on the entire world.

When the pouring out of God’s wrath actually begins in the course of the antichrist’s reign is extremely hard to pinpoint with accuracy. But whenever it is we who believe in Christ won’t be here. The reason this can be said without one shred of doubt is based on a promise God has made to his children that he will save them from the wrath to come. The wrath of God is for the wicked not for his own children. This promise is found in 1Thess.1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

The idea that we are not removed from the world before God starts to pour out his wrath, not only flies in the face of this clear promise but it smacks of absurdity. We would he directly in the line of fire and only a cursory perusal of God’s judgments would he enough to see that no one will escape some damage. In modern warfare that is called, collateral damage, but even this term would not adequately describe the damages to almost everything and everyone during God’s judgments.

Those Who Are Not Afraid Of God

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Most of those who call themselves believers, profess that they are afraid of God. What does this mean? Let us talk more about this. Are they really afraid of God? Are they afraid of God as much as they are afraid of their friends and others while doing something wrong? For example, a colleague of yours has to rush out and has left the mail box open. You are very curious to take a look at it. If no one is around, will you be still afraid thinking that at least God is watching? Please think about this.

The truth is that we are afraid of real people and not God. Except very few of us, most of us don’t always remember the presence of God at all the places and during all the times. Take a marriage conducted alone in a temple by a couple. Who was the witness? God. But if one of the partner denies that marriage, or decides to keep the marriage a secret, can anything be done by the other partner? Nothing. Except praying to God, who was the witness, the other partner can do nothing. Because no human being was the witness. Was the partner who denied or chose to keep total secrecy and lied about the marriage to society afraid of God? No.

This is very unfortunate, but true. Liars and those who believe in deceiving others and themselves are not afraid of God, but only of society. For them God’s powers count for nothing. May God bless such cheats, because only He can save them from their treachery. There is a small Indian story of a teacher. Once he gave all his pupils a slip of paper and asked them to return after reading it at a place where no one was present. One of the pupil did not return till late evening. The teacher went in search for the boy, and found him in a corner of the jungle. He asked him about the reason of not reading what was written on the paper, and not returning. The boy replied- Holy Sir, you instructed me to read this at a place where no one is present. But I find that God is present everywhere. So where do I read this? The teacher applauded the boy for his faith and learning the truth.

The right way of living is to remember the presence of God at all the place and during all the times. The right way to live is to be afraid of God, and no human being.

Armageddon

Revelation 16:16

The word Armageddon strikes fear into the most bravest of men, because of its ominous meaning, about the end of the world as we know it. There are many that scoff at the very words in scripture that cover the battle. But they will answer to a vengeful God for their inconsistency’s in the scripture.

Why should we fear this word, because it not just a word but an event of such magnitude that it will shake the whole world right down to its knees.

We know war as, planes, dropping massive amounts of explosives, lighting up the night sky as if it were day, most of the pilots never getting to see the horror of the reaction on human flesh. We see war as tanks, rolling over every thing in their path, spouting fire and smoke from the shells that they fire, tearing down buildings from great distances. We see war as, men on foot, running and hiding, shooting rockets and rifle shells from conceiled places, killing or being killed.

Men with fear on their faces but always obeying orders to advance. We see war as blood and sweat, maimed bodies, young men just trying to get home. We see war as, a means to an end, a justification of action for self preservation and in most cases, a way to expand, this is the way we see war. But the war of all wars is yet to come, lets go to scripture and find out how God will end war at Armageddon. Revelation 16:16 , Then they gathered the Kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.

This is the scene of the final battle between the forces of good and evil, God and Satan, Jesus and the Antichrist. This will be a massive wide spread annihilating war. The battle will take place around the Tell Magiddo in the Jezrell Valley, located in the area of the plain of Esdraelon. Men say that this war is either, a spiritual meaning, not being a real war, or a war that has already taken place. In both cases they are wrong. Prophecy has every thing to do with this final war.

We believe that we know what war and suffering is, we base all of our knowledge on events of the past and fightings in the present. Many today are calling for Jihad, and not understanding, that God will not allow His word to be compromised nor changed. The Jihad that the world of Islam speaks of is totally contrary to scripture. God Doesn’t ordain nor does He start wars but it is in the minds of man to do evil continually.

The word jihad actually means “struggle, strive.” The Arabic root of the word is jahada, “to strive for.” (The Arabic word for war is “harb.”) Of the two types of jihad, the lesser type is the struggle against religious or political oppression, the second and greater is the soul’s struggle with evil. Moderates think that while “jihad” might refer to an active war against an oppressive regime, such a war may be waged only against that regime, not innocent people. Radical Islamic fundamentalists assume that a jihad is a war without constraints.

Why do we speak of Jihad? Because the history of the Islam faith starting with, Ishmael, is a history of conquest and war. Their shear numbers, dictate that this war will be a war between, Christ and Islam. I reference Genesis 17:20; And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. And also Genesis 17:21; But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year. This is where the war started between Israel and Islam. In My Opinion.

But the scriptures tell us that there will be no other war as this one. There will be three supernatural wars surrounding Israel, the first in the mountains, according to scripture and the second Armageddon, God will destroy the armies of the first one in the mountains and Jesus will destroy the Antichrist in the second. The third will be the last war, the War between Satan and Jesus. Ezekiel 39:17-20; And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.

Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan.
And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.
Thus ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord GOD.
Ezekiel 39:2-5; And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.

Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
The Bible states that the Saints that come with Jesus will be clothed in white, and that His vesture will be dipped in Blood. The Saints will not be involved in the battle, Jesus will conquer this vast army by Himself. Oh, the blood that will be shed, rising up to the bridle of the horse.

A time of unrestraint, a total lack of spiritual being among the armies of the north and all other nations gathered at the Great and Teriable Day of the Lord. Zec 14:12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

After what you’ve heard, can you truly say that you could survive the day of the Lord or do you want to rethink the idea that Jesus loves you and wants the best for you and your family. Don’t be deceived, that day is coming, there will be no piece in the middle east, there will be no lasting piece in the world, as long as the spirit of Antichrist is on this earth. How much longer will you wait, each day that goes by, is another day forward to Armageddon.

The governments of the world wont save you, in fact ,they will all come together against Israel and attempt to destroy her. You may be drafted into the service of the Antichrist, to help in this great and terrible battle, with out choice. Satan knows that he will lose this war, the Antichrist, beast and the false prophet all know that they will lose, but for your life, they don’t and wont care, for them its, kill Jesus, or spend the eternity in the lake of fire.

What are you going to do. The pictures on the movies are not real enough to show you the pain an agony, my words are not good enough to tell you the screams of agony that will take place. Cant you take the time now to evaluate your life and come to the decision to follow Jesus. For we are all, racing toward Armageddon. ars.

Preserving The Sanctity Of Science

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

In one of the most important legal clashes between faith and evolution since the 1925 Scopes Monkey Trial, a federal judge recently barred a Pennsylvania public school district from teaching “intelligent design” (hereafter referred to as ID) in biology class, saying the concept is creationism in disguise. Creationism holds that there is scientific evidence to support the Genesis account of the creation of the earth and of life. However, legal doctrine holds that the public school classroom must be religiously neutral and that schools must not advocate religious views. In 1987, in Edwards v. Aguillard, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that teaching creationism in public schools results in the unconstitutional establishment of religion. Evolution, on the other hand, is intrinsically anti-religious and the teaching of same presents no such issues.

In Missouri, a legislative approach was tried but it now appears to be dead according to the April 2, 2006 edition of the Kansas City Star. HB 1266, the so-called Missouri Science Education Act, would have provided, “If a theory or hypothesis of biological origins is taught, a critical analysis of such theory or hypothesis shall be taught in a substantive amount.” The bill was opposed by a wide range of teacher groups and school organizations, and even several faith-based groups. The Star quoted the chief lobbyist for the Missouri affiliate of the National Education Association as expressing concern about the possible economic consequences of HB 1266 as follows: “We need to be doing our utmost to increase science literacy so our kids can compete.”

But the Kansas State Board of Education, reinforcing that state’s increasingly wacky reputation, took an aggressive, if not dubious, policy step. At the risk of re-igniting the same nationwide squabble it sparked several years ago, the Kansas board approved new public school science standards that cast doubt on the theory of evolution. The 6-4 vote was a win for ID advocates who interestingly helped draft the standards. (ID holds that the universe is so complex it must have been created by a higher power.) Critics of the language charged that it was an attempt to inject God and creationism into public schools in violation of the separation of church and state. “This is a sad day. We’re becoming a laughingstock of not only the nation, but of the world, and I hate that,” said board member Janet Waugh, a Kansas City Democrat. And rightly so, for the vote marked the third time in six years that the Kansas board has rewritten standards with evolution as the central issue. In 1999, the board eliminated most references to evolution, a move Harvard paleontologist Stephen Jay Gould said was akin to teaching “American history without Lincoln.” Two years later, after voters replaced three members, the board reverted to evolution-friendly standards. Elections in 2002 and 2004 changed the board’s composition again, making it more conservative. And now this.

Other states could follow suit; a few have learned to get around the Supreme Court ruling by platforming the teaching of evolution as optional or by urging teachers to describe it as just one of several theories. There is also a movement to insert ID into public schools by way of speakers, clubs, and/or textbook disclaimers. Curiously, such ID groups seem to focus more on how they can tactically and legally introduce the topic into science classes than they do on producing verifiable scientific research.

Battle lines are being drawn across the country over the teaching of ID……..which, to be more specific, is a concept similar to but not identical to creation science. ID relies upon a lack of knowledge for its conclusion. In the absence of such an explanation, intelligent causes are assumed. ID also includes a curious and telling component, one that focuses on ideological and religious goals rather than scholarly ones. Proponents argue that a neutral-sounding “intelligence” is responsible for design. Their premise seems to be that as long as they don’t explicitly name the “designer,” this somehow insulates their viewpoint from the charge of being inherently religious in character. Their arguments are carefully crafted to appear scientific and non-religious, though they have no data supporting their claims. At one time, they promoted creationism as a religious imperative. Now they package their beliefs as “better science.”

But more to the point, the real question is: does ID have a legitimate place in a high school science curriculum? Does it have a place in Kennett High right here in Conway, New Hampshire?

In deciding whether to consider including ID in the curriculum, the sectarian orientation and nature of the movement should be taken into account. The Discovery Institute’s Center for Renewal of Science and Culture in Seattle serves as an home for virtually all of the major advocates of ID. The goals of the CRSC, as stated by the Institute’s director Bruce Chapman, are explicitly religious: namely, to promote Christian theism and to defeat philosophical materialism. Thus, for constitutional reasons, if for no other, the religious orientation of ID clearly makes it unsuitable. Moreover, school board members here and elsewhere should be aware that introducing this topic into the curriculum likely would lead to strong–even legal–opposition from, parents, teachers, clergy, and scientists and others who want to see the sanctity of science preserved.

Now then, the reason for all this seems pretty obvious. Put simply, the aim of ID advocates is to get around the constitutional ban on religion in public schools with their real agenda being the promotion of faith-based teachings in the classroom.

Unlike the metaphysical chop suey in which ID frequently gets entangled, science seeks natural explanations for natural phenomena. It does so by logical inferences from observable facts, experimentation, and verification and relies on reason and evidence. In reason, as Keith Lockitch (a Ph.D. In physics) asserts, one accepts only conclusions that can be proven to be true–conclusions based on sensory evidence and logical inference from such evidence. Faith, on the other hand, is belief that is not supported by facts or logic. It embraces ideas and concepts despite an absence of evidence or proof. But, it would seem, the only ideas that are reasonable are those you know to be true by means of reason, that is, through observation, identification, description, experimental investigation, and theoretical explanation of phenomena.

Most scientists maintain that scientific investigation must adhere to the scientific method, a process for evaluating empirical knowledge under the working assumption of methodological materialism , which explains observable events in nature as a result of natural causes, rejecting supernatural notions. ( from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Clearly, science and religion are mutually exclusive. Each has an important part in this writer’s life and to the lives of most Americans. I attended a private sectarian-oriented academy, a Presbyterian college, and a Jesuit graduate school. In all three, religion played an extremely important role in the classroom. Faith-based teachings, whether Christian, Judaism, Muslim, or whatever are extremely important in their proper forum……..but a public school classroom is not that forum.

Evolution and creationism are also mutually exclusive. Distorting their definitions does not change the reality of their mutual exclusivity. Until and unless something better comes along, evolution will continue to be recognized as the best explanation for the development of life on Earth. As such, it is taught as an integral part of biology, science and related courses in schools, academies, colleges and universities throughout the world.

Some make compelling and open arguments to eliminate the prohibitions to having religion in the classroom. These are worthy of respect and due consideration. An associate argues as follows: “The bill of rights states: ‘Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.’ Thus Congress should make no law saying children cannot pray in schools or cannot bring their Bibles to school or that they cannot be taught about God… Whether they are Christian, Jewish, Unitarian, or Muslim. According to Jefferson, his reference to “separation of church and state” addressed an issue where one particular denomination wanted to be made the officially recognized “state religion” … Similar to the Church of England being the state religion of that country. All birth/death certificates must go through the Church of England.. Making everyone by default a member of the Church of England. That is what our founding fathers wanted to avoid - not to take all reference of God out of public forums.”

However, thinly veiled attempts (such as that perpetrated in Kansas and a few other states) to distort scientific understanding in order to promote certain religious beliefs do not serve our students well. School board members (and administrators) would be poorly advised to follow the Kansas example and consider including ID in a public school science curriculum. But if such proposals are raised here in New Hampshire, they should be met with explanations that there is no scientific evidence to support ID, at least for now. A less polite way of responding might be to simply state the obvious to wit: ID is a disguised form of religious advocacy or, as the Judge in Pennsylvania put it, it is creationism in camouflage and does not belong in a public classroom.

Remember, and Fear the L-rd G-d of Israel!

Saturday, November 15th, 2008

With Hamas threatening to “liberate Jerusalem” and to ultimately “free Palestine” from the Jews, and Iran threatening to unleash a “greater Holocaust,” it would appear these anti-Semities have again forgotten the L-RD G-d of Israel, and that He is to be feared! No one can threaten to hurt G_d’s Chosen People, against the prophetic purposes of G-d, and survive unscathed!

Ahmedinejad, who presently occupies the seat of power rooted in the former Empire of the Medes and Persians, is uttering anti-Semitic threats against the Jews and the existence of Israel, is supporting Hamas, and has vowed to severely hurt any nation recommending taking Iran before the UN Security Council, or imposing sanctions. He is mocking and goading the world’s media regarding the cartoon fiasco, and with an evil eye to provocation, has called into question the seriousness of the Holocaust. (By the way, even though he says he does not believe the Holocaust occurred, or at least that it was not as horrendous as portrayed, he has turned around and threatened a greater Holocaust! If he does not believe the Holocaust actually happened, then how can he threaten a greater? Greater than what? Aha! So, he actually does know the Holocaust indeed happened!)

Is G-d distracted or asleep? Is G-d intimidated by the saber-rattling?

More importantly, are the nations remembering the fear of the G-d of Israel who, historically, delivered the Jews from the hand of any who seriously threatened to annihilate them? Does Ahmedinejad know the reputation of the L-RD G-d of Israel? Does Hamas? Does the UN? Does Russia or the rest of the nations?

And, most importantly, are the Jews remembering the L-RD G-d of Israel, and are they contritely seeking His mercy, protection, deliverance, and forgiveness?

We are often excited about seeing the judgment of G-d brought to bear against the enemy, but forget G-d enacted His might and deliverance when His people repented in prayer and fasting, clothed in sackcloth and ashes! This pattern was not, and is not, merely some fool-proof formula. Rather it is realizing the L-RD desires His people to repent, and fervently seek to restore a relationship with G-d Himself, borne of righteousness! When the Children of Israel cried out to G-d earnestly, G_d intervened and delivered, and Israel’s enemies were either destroyed or they turned to G-d! It is not enough just to desire judgments be brought against the enemies of G-d’s people!

Is G-d again bringing Israel to a point of desparation? That may be a good thing, because then it may be possible for redemption to follow when the Jews gather together to repent and seek righteousness!

The frustration is that deliverance never seems to come about until the Jews are backed into an impossible, dangerous corner first! That is not G-d’s best plan. Rather, it is the propensity of Israel to choose to repeatedly tread that difficult route! I hope Israel eventually tires of constantly pursuing the same circuitous weary path!

Is the present situation with Iran and Hamas, and the wayward nations, finally dangerous and threatening enough to drive the Jews, world-wide, to fall on their faces before G-d?

Or must the situation become much worse?

Psa 106:1 Praise ye the L-RD. O give thanks unto the L-RD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Psa 106:2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the L-RD? who can shew forth all his praise?

Psa 106:3 Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

Psa 106:4 Remember me, O L-RD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;

Psa 106:5 That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.

Psa 106:6 We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.

Psa 106:7 Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.

Psa 106:8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

Psa 106:9 He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.

Psa 106:10 And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

Psa 106:11 And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.

Psa 106:12 Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.

Psa 106:13 They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:

Psa 106:14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted G-d in the desert.

Psa 106:15 And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.

Psa 106:16 They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the L-RD.

Psa 106:17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.

Psa 106:18 And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.

Psa 106:19 They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.

Psa 106:20 Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.

Psa 106:21 They forgat G-d their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;

Psa 106:22 Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.

Psa 106:23 Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

Psa 106:24 Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:

Psa 106:25 But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the L-RD.

Psa 106:26 Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:

Psa 106:27 To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.

Psa 106:28 They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.

Psa 106:29 Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.

Psa 106:30 Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.

Psa 106:31 And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.

Psa 106:32 They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:

Psa 106:33 Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

Psa 106:34 They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the L-RD commanded them:

Psa 106:35 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.

Psa 106:36 And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.

Psa 106:37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,

Psa 106:38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.

Psa 106:39 Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.

Psa 106:40 Therefore was the wrath of the L-RD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.

Psa 106:41 And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.

Psa 106:42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.

Psa 106:43 Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.

Psa 106:44 Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:

Psa 106:45 And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

Psa 106:46 He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.

Psa 106:47 Save us, O L-RD our G-d, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.

Psa 106:48 Blessed be the L-RD G-d of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the L-RD.

The interesting thing about Psalm 106 is that it falls on the heals of Psalm 105! Now, before you think I have just suddenly become aware of a logical numerical sequence that even a first-grader recognizes, let me explain.

Psalm 105, coinciding with the year 2005, expounds upon the seriousness of the Covenant G-d made with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob regarding the Land of Canaan.

Psa 105:7 He is the L-RD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.

Psa 105:8 He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

Psa 105:9 Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;

Psa 105:10 And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:

Psa 105:11 Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:

Psa 105:12 When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.

Psa 105:13 When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;

Psa 105:14 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;

Psa 105:15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

God’s warning imperative of verse 15, delivered through the Psalmist, addressed tampering with the Covenant! That caution was ignored, and Israel unilaterally withdrew from Gaza in August of 2005. Those who spoke out against the withdrawal as being in violation of the Covenant were, and still are, vilified, not just by non-Israelis, but more seriously by fellow Jews within Israel! Amona is a piognantly sad fall-out of that sin against G-d regarding the Covenant G-d made with Abraham,
Isaalc and Jacob (Israel). And, even though it may not be a particularly popular thing to point out, the threats by Israel’s enemies are also a result!

Who was being cautioned regarding the Covenant in Psalm 105? Anyone who might question Israel’s Covenant right to occupy the Land of Promise! Both names for Israel are used in Psalm 105 verse 10, “And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:” indicating the L-RD will not be ignored regarding His Covenant, and thus will bring discipline to bear against those who sin against it, causing the nation to sin! Transgression of a law is sin! Why? Because the Covenant is not to be set aside! In fact, it cannot ultimately be side-stepped, because it is everlasting! The Covenant of the Land will be brought to fruition whether Jacob (the Supplanter) who was re-named Israel (the prince who has power with G-d and with man) wants it to be or not!

In Psalm 106 we are reminded of the works of the L-RD revealed through the historical record of several deliverances from Israel’s enemies, and His mercy and forgiveness even when Israel transgressed. Each time the L-RD was wroth against his people according to Psalm 6 verse 40! And, each time this sequence occurred, there was a promise or directive of G-d involved that was ignored or violated. The sin was non-compliance, followed by enemy threats, and/or dangerous situations allowed by G-d to discipline His people, bringing about a cry for mercy, and heart-felt repentance. Then G-d would remember their affliction, and his Covenant, and would have mercy, hear their cries, and deliver them out of their troubles.

I do not think the content of Psalm 106 following Psalm 105 is prophetically accidental in light of last year’s Unilateral Withdrawal, and this year’s afflictions, and the current threats by Israel’s enemies. Psalm 106 verses 43 to 48 are therefore particularly relevant for the nation of Israel at this juncture!

Is Israel ready to repent, or in the mode to bring to remembrance the mercies and deliverances of the L-RD?

Or, will Israel continue to desire to follow after the ways and wishes of the other nations? Must there yet be more threats and atrocities perpetrated by Israel’s enemies?

I guess Israel, (and indeed all nations) must decide!
